LGBTQ+ Resources
General Resources and Philosophy
I have an unwavering dedication to advancing LGBTQ+ representation, sense of belonging, and safety in the sciences. This dedication is foundational to all of the work that I do and is an important guiding principle for the types of projects and collaborations I take on. I believe that people from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experience levels should be encouraged and celebrated for their contributions to science, and I sincerely commit to never backing down on this, regardless of what ignorant, egomaniacal bully sits in power. If this core principle conflicts with your own research ethics, kindly consider not collaborating with me!
If you want to meet other queer scientists like myself please consider checking out 500 Queer Scientists or Diversify EEB!
If you are a queer person in distress, know that you are not alone! Here are some resources that might be helpful:

In 2019 I founded the the Fruit Bats, the first LGBTQ+ affinity space for the North American Society for Bat Research (NASBR). The Fruit Bats meet at the annual bat conferences and typical Fruit Bats events include mixers, board game meetups, and other professional-social activities.
